T.Family Goldie Jones

This Beauty is called “T.Family Goldie Jones”.

It’s the result of co-operation by Vuorensaku Guitars and TV Jones. For me as a young Master Luthier this project was a great honour. Thomas Jones – the man behind TV Jones brand is a living legend. Every time I have met Mr Jones during guitar expos I have felt that great attitude and experience that he has.

Awhile a go we started to plan this co-operation project together. Simply a T.Family guitar geared with TV Jones pickup. I got free hands to create something what I like and would like to show off for US market. The plan was to make it ´till NAMM 2020 to be shown at TV Jones Booth.

Basically I wanted to make something that would fit to TV Jones world meaning ingredients like Gretsch style F-hole, Bigsby vibrato and fancy top-coloured finish. I also wanted to bring something Finnish to this project. The body wood is thermo treated pine from Finland and top is maple from Helsinki cemetery. Neck is Canadian maple but also thermo treated in Finland. In a way this is research project how this thermo treated tone woods are works out.

The pickups which was chosen here was TV Jones PowerTron+ ´cause it was designed with Billy Gibbons so that’s something in common between us – working with another legend Mr Gibbons.

Even this is a one-pickup-maghine  it´s not “one trick pony”. Under the hood there’s normal Volume and Tone but also Series/Parallel switch for the pickup. Full output for PowerTron+ is 8,6k but this Parallel function cuts it under half still keeping it as a humbucker. Totally different thing than coil split. Tone capacitor is also chosen to work perfectly with the pickup. Very wide tone sector and usefull characters around the scale.
